New warning signage for traffic near Donore school

New school warning signage will soon be put in place outside Donore National School.

Meath County Council has gone to tender for the provision of additional school warning signage outside the school.

Councillor Stephen McKee said he was please to see this work now going ahead.

"I would like to thank Michael Finnegan, County Road Safety Officer, for meeting with myself and local residents on this issue and for listening to our road safety concerns for Donore. There is no doubt that something needs to be done to slow the speed of traffic down, make the village safer and to improve the quality of life for everyone. Safety outside Donore National School is a clear priority.

"It’s clear that general traffic-calming measures are needed on all approach roads into Donore and particularly outside Donore National School’," he said.

‘The Council also recently repainted the road markings through the village to include the rumble strips near the National School following a request I made on this and I call for further traffic calming works on behalf of local residents’ concluded
