Funeral details for victim of Moygaddy fatal collision

Funeral arrangements have been made for the victim of Wednesday's fatal crash on the Dunboyne to Maynooth Road at Moygaddy.

Alan Kinahan (52) from Maynooth was fatally injured when the car he was driving was in collision with a tractor on the R157 at Moygaddy at around 4pm on Wednesday.

His remains will repose at Oliver Reilly Funeral Home in Clane from 4pm to 8pm on Monday with removal on Tuesday morning to arrive at the Church of Our Lady and St Joseph, Caragh for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by committal prayers in Newlands Cross Crematorium at approxinatmely 1pm.

Mr Kinahan of Maynooth and formerly of Clane and Caragh, Co Kildare and Bartlemy, Co Cork, is survived by his father Roger, step-mother Rose, brothers Billy, Mark and Enda, step-brothers Sean and Padraig, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, to whom sympathy is extended. He was predeceased by his mother Phil.

Gardai are continuing to investigate the collision and are appealing for witnesses, particularly those with dashcam footage to come forward.

The collision between the car and tractor occurred at 4pm on Wednesday, 26th July on the R157 Dunboyne to Maynooth Road at Moygaddy. The driver of the tractor was shocked but otherwise uninjured.

The road was closed for a time to allow for a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or who may have video footage, to contact them.
