'Saving young lives through adventure'

The Navan Skydive For Life is an exclusive skydive day just for residents of Navan and surrounding townlands to have "the experience of a lifetime" as well as support the work of Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland.

The motivation behind this event is "saving young lives through adventure."

This skydive day on 23rd September is an amazing way to raise funds to support "our vital, lifesaving mental health awareness and suicide prevention programmes for students, teachers and schools."

Participants will be funding youth mental health awareness and suicide prevention programmes in local schools and in the Cavan community. Those who get involved will also be helping to fund Youth Crisis Counselling Services, which will pay for fast, free, access to local counsellors and psychologists for young people in crisis or at immediate risk of suicide or self-harm.

Participants raise funds by reaching out to friends, family, and community members for donations. The money raised is then donated to the charity by online donation or by bank transfer. The fundraising target that you must reach is €600, which includes the cost of your skydive.

Once participants have reached this target they will be emailed their Skydive For Life Voucher which they then use to book their slot for the activity. Skydives can be booked for any weekend during the year but places are always subject to availability.

Skydive For Life also offers t-shirts and certificates to participants who reach certain fundraising milestones. You can also upgrade to a Platinum Package and receive a free video package of your jump.

To take part in this physical activity, participants must complete a short training session on the day of their jump. This event involves tandem skydives, which means you are attached to a certified jumpmaster:

"All our Skydive For Life events take place at the Irish Parachute Club which fully licensed and insured and where their experienced and certified instructors provide training and support throughout your jump."

Skydive for Life are encouraging all that can to take part in this event:

"Not only is skydiving a fun and unique way to give back, but it also offers participants a sense of accomplishment and personal growth. Overcoming the fear of jumping out of a plane can be a life-changing experience, and the knowledge that the funds raised are supporting such a worthwhile cause only adds to the positive impact."

"Joining our Navan Skydive For Life is a thrilling and rewarding way to support youth mental health awareness and suicide prevention In Ireland."
