Tubs takes time out from Oireachtas grilling to greet Duleek teens in Leinster House

Ryan Tubridy took time out of an Oireachtas committee grilling to chat to Duleek teens who visited Leinster House as part of a community summer programme yeserday.

Tubridy and his agent Noel Kelly appeared before two Oireachtas committees yesterday to answer questions about €345,000 worth of undisclosed payments made by RTÉ to the former Late Late Show host.

It seems it was a welcome distraction from the task at hand as he spent time talking to the youngsters who were visiting Dublin as part of senator Sharon Keogan's initiative.

Taking to twitter she explained that the teens were part of a youth summer programme taking part in TidyTown activities two days per week.

Keogan said the teens were delighted to meet their "idol," she added:

"They knew @RyanTubridyShow was in Leinster House today and they really wanted to meet him. They have seen him on Toy Shows for years. He is an idol to them.

"On a break I asked if he was feeling up to it. He was quite surprised by the request as he couldn't believe the children wanted to meet him.

"He met with them, gave them some time and posed for a photo with them. I know it lifted the teenagers but I hope it also lifted him up too.. A tough day for him but he still took time out to bring joy to these teens. Just look at their faces, it says it all."
