For the first time, Dunshaughlin Dance will host their very own Meath Strictly Come Dancing, which takes place in the Newgrange Hotel, Navan, on 30th September.

Dunshaughlin Dance are looking for 24 couples to take part in the ultimate dance extravaganza. You can sign up alone and the team will find you the perfect dance partner. They're looking for "enthusiastic and charismatic personalities to light up the stage".

Zoe Koulianou, owner of Dunshaughlin Dance says not to be alarmed if you have never had dance lessons as you will have 10 lessons during the 10 weeks prior to the competition with teachers from Dunshaughlin Dance and Daisy School of Dance.

"We're not looking for professional dancers. It's just for fun" said Zoe.

The motivation behind this event came from the need of Dunshaughlin Dance to raise money for their trip to France where they've been invited to perform on the main stage of Disneyland Paris. The dance group of 60 have been fundraising towards the expenses of this incredible opportunity through events such as this one, and Meath's Got Talent.

All participants in Meath Come Dancing, will pay a fee of €100 to cover their entry and dance lessons. On top of this, the candidates will raise money themselves and these donations will be going towards the France trip.

As well as learning a duet, there will be a group routine that all participants will perform together on the night.

To apply you register your interest via the form on the website www.meathcomedancing.com. Applications close at the end of June.

Zoe is encouraging people to "lace up those dance shoes and prepare for an unforgettable journey".
