Gluais set to showcase talent in Trim before French festival trip

Trim music group Gluais will take to the stage in the Knightsbrook Hotel on Thursday 25th May for their annual showcase concert. This will be their final performance before the group travels to France in August with a delegation of top Irish artists to perform in the world renowned Festival Interceltique de Lorient.

The festival attracts over 700,000 spectators annually and Gluais will be performing three shows while there. As a send-off, Gluais will be showcasing their talent in the Knightsbrook Hotel date with a troop of musicians, singers and Irish dancers performing favourite show-stoppers, Irish ballads, dances and tunes, as well as new songs that they have been working on.

Gluais' youthful energy and musical talent continuously leave the audience in awe. The group showcases Irish music and culture at the highest standard, blending their Irish traditional musicians, singers and their troop of Irish dancers together effortlessly on stage.

Set up in 2012, Gluais is made up of 40 trad musicians, singers and Irish dancers, bringing a youthful approach to fusing Irish traditional music with other musical genres.

In March of last year, Gluais were selected to represent Ireland and perform two shows in Disneyland Paris on St Patrick’s Day as part of the Disney Irish Celtic Festival 2022.

Over the years, Gluais have represented Ireland five other times abroad on international stages, most notably in July 2019 when they travelled to Michigan & Chicago, USA representing Ireland for the first time at the International Children of the World in Harmony Music Festival in Michigan and also performed a two-hour show in the renowned Chicago Gaelic Park.

Gluais has also performed a short concert for President Michael D Higgins in Áras an Uachtaráin.

Annual highlights for Gluais every year include performing at the Arrivals Area of Dublin Airport at Christmas to welcome families home for the festive season. Gluais also visit Crumlin Children’s Hospital in Dublin every Christmas to meet with and perform for the children and their families.

Tickets are available to buy in Knightsbrook Hotel and also in Scoil Mhuire Secondary School, Trim, for the show with a 7.30pm start.
