Letters to the Editor: Further praise for Navan hospital

(Editor, Meath Chronicle)

Dear sir - I was walking in Navan on 7th March last March when I took a very heavy fall on the pavement. I smashed my face off the concrete path and also hurt my right knee badly. I was very lucky in that four people came to my assistance. One of these people was a nurse, who said I needed attention badly and she took me to Navan hospital's Emergency Department.

From the moment I arrived at A&E to the moment I left, I got the very best of care and attention.

The waiting area was well organised and patients were being moved along quickly. I was very impressed with all the staff who looked after me. The professionalism of the nurses who looked after me, to the doctor who treated me, and the porters who carried out their duties with great humour. I could not speak more highly of the A&E in Navan. What a wonderful facility for the people of Meath. It would be an immense loss if it was ever shut down. I hope and pray that, that day will never come.

Yours,

A Drumree resident
