Citizens Energy roadshow to be held in Navan

EirGrid, the operator and developer of Ireland’s electricity grid, is set to host an energy citizens roadshow in Navan on Thursday 4th May next.

The company says the event will inform local communities about how EirGrid plans to future-proof the electricity grid, while ESB Networks will outline its role in connecting microgeneration.

Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), will advise on home energy upgrades and retrofitting grants and Meath County Council will outline the need for continued regional development opportunities.

Hosted by former RTE midlands correspondent, Ciaran Mullooly, the EirGrid Energy Citizens Roadshow takes place at The Ardboyne Hotel, Navan from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on 4th May, and will include a host of exhibitors showcasing the latest information about home energy efficiency upgrades.

Sinead Dooley, Head of Public Engagement with EirGrid said: “We understand people’s concerns regarding energy consumption and the need for savings, and we are pleased to have exhibitors from a range of organisations, such as SEAI, who can provide information regarding local and national supports.”

The nationwide Government of Ireland ‘Reduce Your Use’ campaign, #ReduceYourUse, gives practical advice on how families, households and businesses can save money by promoting and encouraging energy efficiency. It also highlights the Government supports that are available to help with rising energy costs.

“We look forward to hearing inputs from communities, industry leaders, and to share knowledge in working towards achieving our energy ambitions,” added Dooley.
