Plenty of change for Meath hurlers

There are only six survivors from the team that started Meath's final game of last year's Joe McDonagh cup campaign against Down for tomorrow's NHL Div 2B opener against Wicklow at Pairc Tailteann.

Goalkeeper and joint captain Charlie Ennis retains his position between the sticks, while Sean Geraghty and Brendan McKeon hold onto their places in the full-back line.

James Kelly and Stephen Morris also remain in defence for the Royals with the only other survivor from that starting 15 that fielded in Ballycran last May being Damien Healy.

Three of the subs used that day, Nicky Potterton, Eamon O Donnchadha and Padraic O'Hanrahan, come into the starting line-up for the game against Wicklow, while Trim's Pa Ryan, Ratoath's Niall McLarnon and Kilmessan's Kyle Donnelly will make their league debuts for Seoirse Bulfin's side.

Rathmolyon's Simon Ennis also comes into the side while Trim's James Toher also makes a welcome return to the county colours after missing out in 2022.
