The Ratoath Municipal District 2022 Pride of Place awards took place in The Pastoral Centre, Dunshaughlin on Thursday, 27th October, 2022.
Cathaoirleach of Ratoath Municipal District, Cllr Gillian Toole welcomed the guests in attendance. Cllr Toole acknowledged the importance of communities and the support that they provide and recognised the invaluable work carried out across the district. Cllr Toole stated that it is clear that Meath is continuing its strong tradition of community development of volunteerism and community action. Cllr Toole also commented that the groups should feel a sense of achievement because being selected is a recognition of all of the amazing work that has already been done.
Director of Services for the Ratoath MD, Mr. Dara McGowan outlined the importance of Pride of Place noting that it supports and promotes community activity and development and enables the Council to work in partnership with the community. He commended the commitment and work of the community groups over the last year. Mr McGowan also, on behalf of the Council wished Dunshaughlin Tidy Towns the very best of luck as they represent Meath in this year’s Cooperation Ireland Pride of Place competition in the Population 2000 – 5000 category.
