Ballinacross locals lauded for fundraising achievements

Ballinacross Community Association held a function in the local community centre on 21st October in recognition of the achievements of two local men Martin Sheridan and Shane Maguire for their achievements over the summer.

Martin Sheridan walked 600 km from Malin Head in Donegal to Mizen Head in Cork, via Kerry in eight and a half days. Donations received along the way go to various charities including Be Buddies, not Bullies, Moylagh 50K Challenge (Cancer), Palliative Care and LARCC Centre, Multyfarnham.

Another parishioner, Shane Maguire cycled across nine provinces of Canada from coast to coast, Vancouver to Nova Scotia. He completed the 6,200 km journey in 40 days on his eleven-year-old bicycle. Contributions to Shane went to the Motor Neurone Disease campaign.
