Shera class as Navan powerlifter wins title

Shera Creamer (14) from Navan showed real determination and talent to claim victory in her category at the Irish National Full Power Championships in Castleblayney recently.

A former gymnast and Irish dancer, Shera attends Beaufort Colleges, Navan where she is preparing for her Junior Cert. As well as weightlifting she also plays rugby for Navan u-16s.

Not content with becoming a champion in Castleblayney, Shera set national powerlifting records and equalled the world bench press record in her age and weight category.

Her total on the day was 147.5kg (squat 50kg, bench press, 32.5kg and deadlift 65kg). This performance qualifies Shera for the World Championships which will take place this month in Suffolk, England.

The Navan teenagers travelled to Castleblayney with her coach and father, Darragh Creamer, and five other team members, three of whom also came home with national championships. Darragh owns and runs DROC Strength and Mobility on Kennedy Road in Navan.
