Duleek lotto winner says "legs went weak" when she found out about €8.9 million win

A new millionaire who bought their winning lotto ticket in Duleek says their “legs went weak” when they found out the news.

A family syndicate who purchased their ticket in Lowthe's Londis in Duleek collected their Lotto Jackpot prize worth an astonishing €8.9 Million which they won on Wednesday, 5th of October.

Speculation had been rife in the village as to who the new millionaire was. The winning ticket was sold on Saturday 1st of October in the well-known convenience store.

The ecstatic family, who wish to keep their win private, spoke of the moment they realised they’d won the life-changing prize.

“We just couldn’t believe it, we felt so overwhelmed but so grateful at the same time! We’re still wrapping out head around it. It’s going to give us such security going forward”, they said.

“My legs went weak when the National Lottery Claims Teams told me how much I’d won. My head was like scrambled eggs after I got off the phone with them. I was putting my shopping away in all the wrong cupboards. I put a bag of sugar in the fridge and I made a cup of tea with un-boiled water!”, one syndicate member added.

The family don’t have any immediate plans for the winnings but hope to firstly pay off a few bills.
