Wish comes true for movie set car supplier

Carlanstown native Noel Kearney who runs a UK-based company supplying vehicles for the film industry has recently been working on Lindsay Lohan's new movie 'Irish Wish'.

Noel who owns ‘1st Position Vehicles’ told how he supplied the modern taxis for the New York scenes in the movie that were recently shot in Dublin.

Irish Wish is a romantic comedy starring Lindsay Lohan being made for Netflix. The story follows Maddie, whose best friend gets engaged to the love of her life but puts her feelings aside to be bridesmaid at their wedding. The action takes place around Ireland with scenes shot in Dublin, Wicklow, Westport and Knock Airport.

Noel supplied the modern day New York taxis to recreate the New York in Dublin, which were brought in from his company's base in the UK.

Having moved to London when he was 15 and working a variety of jobs, Noel went on to set up First Position Vehicles in 1987. He carved out a successful career for himself supplying all sorts of vehicles from taxis to fire engines to military vehicles to the movie industry and has also worked on many music videos meeting some huge stars along the way.

Among the big names he has worked with include Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, The Rolling Stones, Cher, Madonna, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, Shania Twain, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, David Bowie, Oasis, Blur, Stormzy, Kayne West, James Blunt, West Life, Boy Zone, 1 Direction, Liam Neeson, Jeremy Irons, Graham Norton, and Jonathon Ross supplying vehicles for various music videos, and TV productions and commercials.

He moved back to Ireland in 2007 and now lives in Staholmog but to the UK where he continues to run his business, which is located close to Pinewood Studios.
