Visitor ban in Navan hospital lifted from today

Visiting is to resume at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan from today, Wednesday 26th after high levels of Covid 19 forced the hospital to restrict the public's movements in the facility last month.

All wards will allow daily access to visitors between the hours of 14:00 to 16:00 and in the evening 18:00 to 19:30.

A decision had been taken last month to implement restrictions in the hospital due to the high levels of Covid-19 in the community.

Visiting policy and process are as follows:

Visiting is restricted to one person at the bedside at any given time. If more than one visitor is in attendance, then time at the bedside and can be rotated between visiting parties.

All visitors must observe hand hygiene procedures and wear surgical face masks while visiting.

In the event of a Covid outbreak on a ward, discretionary visiting for vulnerable and end of life patients will always be facilitated through the clinical nurse manager or nurse in charge of the ward.

A spokesperson for the hospital has thanked the public in facilitating visiting at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan.

"Patients benefit greatly from daily visits; your support is greatly appreciated," they added.
