Navan Rugby Football Club's Golf Society staged their annual golf competition for the Cara Cup recently in the Royal Tara Golf Club.

This cup was presented by Richie Healy, father of club member David Healy , many years ago, and is played for annually on the club's President's Prize day.

Coincidently the club President for 2022 is David Healy.

The society was founded in 1985 and has been played each year since then (with the exception of the Covid years).

Many of the original members featured in our outing the 26th. Thirty members turned out for this outing in Royal Tara Golf Club. The weather was perfect and ideal for golf, which was reflected in the scores.

The scoring was hot and unprecedented with two scores of 45 points leading the field. Tom Byrne just pipped Jamie Cullen on a count back to claim the Cara Cup. Congratulations Tom.

The golf was followed by the traditional few beverages and a superb meal.

A great night was had by all and thanks to Royal Tara Golf Club for hosting the day.

The society holds two outings each year, so keep an eye out for the next one.

It is planned to have an away trip next year to Ardglass GC and Greenore GC, with an overnight stay in Carlingford, so keep an eye out for details.

All members men and ladies are entitled to play, and members guests are welcome,

Congrats to all.
