Meath's young guns show an extra edge to win

Meath u-16s made the trip to Clonad, Laios for the final stages of the Leinster Hurling C Championship and return home happy after notching up an notable achievement.

Conditions were hot and sunny for the games and Meath faced Westmeath in the semi-final. It was a close match for most of the game, until Meath finished a well taken goal which put sufficient, match-winning points between their neighbours.

The final scoreline read: Meath 1-14 Westmeath 0-13.

Next up was Laios in the final. They had met twice before, with a win each for both teams. Laios were a big physical team, but the Meath players had all the hurling. Laois depended on goals to keep them in the game, using their physicality to push through. The game ended in a draw after normal time.
