Co-working hub launched in Trim

Flat Out Coworking + Coffee, a new co-working facility in Trim led by husband and wife team Gordon and Sinead Campbell, was officially launched this week by Minister Damien English and Trim MD cathaoirleach Joe Fox.

One of only two formal co-working spaces in Meath, the spacious facility offers 12 private workspaces, fibre broadband, a Zoom room and a privacy booth.

Meath residents are more likely to have to commute than those living in any other county, but Flat Out Coworking + Coffee offers an alternative.

Since the space opened last month, a bustling and diverse community of remote workers have taken desk space including those in tech, finance, web design, the arts and archaeology. Situated in the busy tourist town of Trim, the space has also attracted international visitors working in other time zones.

Gordon Campbell, owner of Flat Out Coworking + Coffee and former hospitality consultant said: “The interest in remote working has remained post-pandemic with many employees seeking this option from their existing or future employers. While some are happy to work from their home office, plenty of others like the option of leaving the house to go to work without the lengthy commute. Flat Out offers the best of both worlds – a dedicated space to work, without the commute to Dublin.”

Speaking at the official ribbon cutting ceremony, Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, Damien English TD said: "Working remotely doesn’t always mean working from your house, it’s best if it’s in a co-working facility or a hub like this. All the research we do shows more and more people are very interested in working in a hub or a co-working space where there is a bit of action - a bit of activity"

At the opening Minister English spoke about how this business services the local community while also enhancing the offering of Trim. Minister English reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting remote working and supporting local hubs which have top-class facilities.

The coffee dock is open to the public six days a week serving top quality coffee and pastries. Co-workers also benefit from discounts in the coffee dock.

Open six day’s a week, Monday - Friday 7am - 7pm, Saturday 8am - 4pm. Daily pricing starts at 19 euro a day and 199 euro per month excluding VAT.
