There was a familiar face across the finish line first at the Kells Heritage 5K run, hosted by Kells AC, on Friday evening, as Dunboyne AC's Peter Somba claimed the spoils yet again.
Somba had almost 40 seconds to spare ahead of Dundrum South Dublin (DSD) AC's Killian Mooney when he won in 15:08 with St Brigid's AC's Aaron Getty the next best of the Meath runners when he took fourth place just behind Clonliffe Harriere's Ed Tottenham.
The 'Tottenham' theme was maintained as Robbie Keane from Drogheda AC was fifth.
Fiona Clinton from the DSD club edged out Trim's Edel Gaffney to take the Ladies race in a time of 17:50 with Gaffney 43 seconds back.
Dunshaughlin AC won the male team prize with their top three finishers Evan Scully, Ciaran Purcell and Tony McCann giving them the edge over Navan AC in second and Bohermeen AC in third.
Gaffney's second place finish in the ladies race boosted Trim ac to the leading female club with Kym McGrath and Paula Hegarty also scoring impressively.
The host club Kells AC were second with Fr Murphy AC taking third in the female club event.
