Chase is on for last four spot

At the risk of stating the obvious the Junior B FC appears to be St Brigid's to lose, but such is the inconsistencies of Meath club football anything can happen so the Ballinacree side will be keen to keep their foot on the gas as they strive to return to the JFC for 2023.

Clonard's withdrawal from the Junior B means Cortown will have another bye this weekend and they are the team both Kilmainhamwood and Slane are hoping to catch to claim third and fourth in the group behind already qualified St Brigid's and Drumconrath.

Slane v Drumconrath: Much more was expected of Slane, but they struggled early on. However, they did improve in the last round when only losing out by a point to St Brigid's and a repeat of that display might give them the edge over Drumconrath in what is expected to be a fiercely competitive clash at Castletown on Friday (7.30pm). Verdict - Slane.

Kilmainhamwood v St Mary's: Kilmainhamwood cannot afford any more slip ups after being held to a draw by Cortown last time out. This is a must win game for them at Rathkenny on Saturday 6pm and it is one they should take. Verdict - Kilmainhamwood.
