Memories of Mel and the making of Braveheart as epic movie is shown at Trim Castle

Over 500 people turned out to see Trim's own Hollywood blockbuster 'Braveheart' on the big screen last night - with the key location for the film - as the backdrop.

With Covid scuppering the original plans for the 25th anniversary screening it finally took place two years later but with no less enthusiasm.

Earlier in the day there was great entertainment around the castle with music and a signing tent where actors from the film including James Robinson (Young William Wallace), Mhairi Calvey (Young Murron) and Peter Hanly (Prince Edward) and Angus Macfadyen (Robert the Bruce) were on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos.
