Royal Meath Show set for September at the Porch Fields

The 80th Royal Meath Show will be held on Sunday 4th September in the Porch Fields, Trim. This is a very special show being held in a very special location. No other show in the country has the wonderful back drop of Trim Castle, a site made world famous by Mel Gibson and the film Braveheart. After all the world has gone through since the last show in 2019, it will be great to be able to display all that is good in the local area.

Even though the world came to a stop due to the pandemic, the world of agriculture and crafts never stopped. The animals had to be looked after each day as normal, and a lot of people renewed their interest in gardening and crafts as forms of mindfulness. It's now time to bring out the best in these and bring all the finest to Trim on the first Sunday in September.

The Royal Meath Show committee is working hard at the minute to get everything in place to make this an excellent day for all who attend whether they are exhibiting, trading or in for a walk around. There is something of interest for everyone, be it the biggest black bull, the cutest Pygmy goat, maybe even a pet lamb. The sights and smells in the tent with the home industries are sure to make most want to run away with an apple tart, or just stop and smell the roses. There is also the horse area if you have an aspiring show jumper in the family. Don't forget that the Trim version of Crufts will take place on the day, so you don't need to worry about leaving the dog home alone.

For entertainment, Declan Nerney will get everyone hopping on the dance floor, with Lisa Furlong will be there to get the beat going.
