They haven't gone away you know - champions back in the hunt!

Nicky Potterton delivered a baker's dozen of points as champions Kildalkey got themselves back into the Jubilee Cup picture with a 1-18 to 1-10 victory over Na Fianna at Longwood tonight.

Despite hitting 11 wides in the opening 30 minutes Na Fianna led by 1-6 to 0-7 at half-time with Rory Fagan's goal decisive in giving them the edge.

However, after the resumption Kildalkey took control and with Potterton flawless from placed balls they put themselves into a winning position before the outstanding Padraig Geoghegan put the issue beyond doubt with a 46th minute goal.

Na Fianna were left to rue 16 wides and after draws with Trim and Ratoath in their opening two games it is now back to the drawing board for them ahead of their fourth round test against Kiltale.

Kildalkey, who had lost their opening two games against Kiltale and Trim, have their first points on the board in the defence of their crown and will hope to double that tally when they face St Peter's in round four.
