Trim take Pairc Tailteann thriller

When Trim and Kildalkey meet in the SHC they never fail to deliver and last night's second round clash in Pairc Tailteann was another classic as the 2020 champions recovered from a six-point deficit with 16 minutes remaining to beat the 2021 winners by 3-23 to 3-14.

The game hinged on a 42nd minute melee that saw most players involved in some ugly scenes.

Both Trim's James Andrews and Kildalkey's Paddy Potterton saw red from referee Ciaran Flynn, but the row ignited a fire in Jimmy Canty's side that boosted them to victory as they outscored Kildalkey by 2-13 to 0-4 for the remainder.
