Aoife Minogue registerd 2-3 against Kerry in a top-quality display from the Dunderry player.

Meath hit form as Kerry are conquered

The journey continues. Meath''s adventures in the All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship will include at least one more day out for them when they defeated kerry 2-17 to 1-7 at O'Moore Park, Portlaoise today.

This was a again another measured, controlled at times scintillating display from Brendan Skehan's side who took some time to get going but once they did there was not stopping them.

The Royals led 0-9 to 0-3 at the interval and pushed on from there to secure a place in the last four on Saturday 23rd July.

They were driven forward by a number of factors including a tour de force display by Aoife Minogue who hit 2-3, her two goals taken with conviction.

Jane Dolan scored eight points but she also won a lot of frees with Grace Coleman, Amy Gaffney and Sinead Hackett scoring two points apiece.

It was an authoritative display by the Royals who hardly gave Kerry a look in when it came to scoring goals. The winners played fast, direct hurling and prospered.

Kerry's best player Caoimhe Spillane did find the net with a stinging shot but it was 52nd minute when the outcome was effectively decided.

Overall Meath were strong and decisive and played with a confidence, even a panache, that augers well for them.
