Dunderry started their intermediate hurling campaign with a well earned victory over Rathmolyon on Saturday.

Rathmolyon registered two points early on before Dunderry exploded out of the traps with a Luke Martyn goal.

The sides traded points before Liam Coogan extended Dunderry's lead with a low driven goal after 20 minutes.

Rathmolyon pegged back two further points before Luke Martyn and Jamie Leavy hit points to give Dunderry a 2-03 to 0-05 lead at the break.

Dunderry started the second half in rip-roaring fashion when Liam Coogan scored a brilliant individual goal within a minute of the restart.

While Rathmolyon briefly threatened to make a comeback, a flurry of points from Luke Martyn (three) Jamie Leavy (two), Liam Coogan and Aaron Feeney meant Dunderry ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 3-10 to 0-11.
