Lorna Carty remembered in new community walkway

The late Lorna Carty was remembered by family, friends and the wider community of Dunderry parish on Saturday night when a community walkway was dedicated to her memory.

The people of Dunderry and Robinstown gathered in Dunderry GAA grounds to dedicate their new biodiversity community walkway in memory of Lorna, who died on 26th June 2015.

The event was an acknowledgement of appreciation to Lorna’s dedication and commitment to Dunderry and the local GAA club.

“Lorna’s kindness and support was invaluable to the club, and all were asked to remember Lorna as the walk this newly installed walkway,” says club secretary, Orla Brady.

This project was undertaken by Dunderry GAA under the guidance of Maria O Neill, Tom Gallagher and a dedicated committee in conjunction with Dunderry Ladies Circle - a group that supports both local organisations and charities.

“Lorna was a valuable member of both Dunderry GAA and Dunderry Ladies Circle. This walkway will be an invaluable amenity to the community of Dunderry parish and a reminder of a dear friend,” she said.
