Kells Road Races make a return

After a break of almost three years, the Kells Road Races returns this weekend with a large contingent of motorcycling enthusiasts expected to congregate in Kells and Crossakiel.

The CCs Unlimited Kells Road Races will take place this Saturday and Sunday, 18th/19th June.

Roads will be closed on Saturday at 11am and on Sunday at 8am.

Racing will start approximately one to two hours after roads have been close.

“All the big riders will be home from the Isle of Man TT. We are the first southern race of the year so we are expecting large crowds out at our Crossakiel track,” said spokesperson, Diarmuid Corcoran.

“We would urge everyone to be respectful of the kind land owners and residents of Crossakiel who are so good to let us us use their beautiful village .

“We would like to thank Meath County Council and the local Gardai for all there support in organising our event. A massive thanks to all our sponsors, without whom this would not be possible.

“We are looking forward to seeing all the race fans back after the long break to watch the bikes come across our famous jumps and reach speeds of up to 170 mph,” he said.
