Navan resident charged with possession of drugs and cash

A 20-year-old man with a Navan address has been sent forward for trial on charges of alleged possession of drugs and cash.

Alex McGovern of The Walk, Athlumney Abbey, Navan appeared at Trim District Court charged with alleged possession of cocaine valued at €8,115 and €3,015 in cash.

He was also charged with possession of €2,675 in cash alleged to be the proceeds of crime on 23rd October last. Garda Morris gave evidence of having served a book of evidence on the accused.

Judge Cormac Dunne remanded the accused on continuing bail having sent him forward for trial at Trim Circuit Court later this month.

Separately, a 26-year-old man – Albert Dauti of Blackwater Abbey, Navan – appeared at Trim District Court charged with alleged using a false document at Stonebridge, Athlumney, Navan on 15th December 2019 contrary to theft and fraud legislation.

Garda Clarke gave evidence of having served a book of evidence on the accused.

The accused was remanded on continuing bail to appear at Trim Circuit Court for his trial later this month.
