Nobber woman Melissa named Vet Nurse of the Year
Melissa O’Brien from Nobber has claimed top spot in the prestigious Irish Veterinary Nursing Association nursing awards, an award for excellence in veterinary nursing.
Melissa, who graduated from DkIT in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Nursing and joined O'Dowd Veterinary of Ardee and Dunleer in 2017, won the award for which members of the public or of the profession can nominate a candidate who they feel goes over and above the call of duty, whether it be to assist an animal, a client or a member of the practice team.
A spokesperson for O'Dowd veterinary said: "We are thrilled for and proud of Melissa and say she deserves this high-level recognition for the fantastic work that she does." The awards ceremony took place in Tullamore Court Hotel on Saturday 28th May.
