Eureka students quiz Minister on homelessness

Two Eureka Secondary School students questioned Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien on the Government's response to the homeless crisis during a visit to Kells.

Leaving Cert students Aoife Cahill and Andrea O'Brien had previously written to the Minister outlining a number of questions regarding the homeless crisis and received a response from him.

After hearing from their teacher Stephen McKee, that Minister O'Brien was in town, the schoolgirls took the opportunity to put their questions to him in person, asking him a range of questions including whether the fact the Government had stopped building council houses in the 70's and 80's had contributed to the crisis and whether the influx of Ukrainian refugees would have an impact on Irish citizens on the housing list.
