There's nothing like Croke Park on big championship day

It might not be back to the big time just yet for Meath but they are at least back in the Big House for another clash with their old rivals.

In what must have been least surprising announcement of the year from the GAA so far it was confirmed today that the Andy McEntee's troops will face Dessie Farrell's charges at HQ on Sunday 15th May, throw-in 4pm.

Dublin have dominated the series between the two counties in recent times but that has to change some time - and Meath supporters will be hoping they can overturn their opponents this time around.

The curtain-raiser that day is the other semi-final between Kildare and Westmeath, 2pm.

The winners in both games will play in the Leinster final on Saturday 28th May.

There is a strong feeling among some Meath supporters (the very optimistic among them perhaps?) that this could be Meath's opportunity. That they might be able to capitalise on Dublin's difficulties.

It's an undisputed fact that Dublin are not the force they once were with relegation from the NFL Div 1 confirming that fact but they are still a very formidable foe indeed and they will be eager to prove as much this time around.

Meath showed an ability to create and take a series of goal chances against Wicklow on Sunday and that capability could cause Dublin serious problems.

Meath supporters have not got behind their team in big numbers in recent seasons but this is an opportunity to get urge their county on this time and finally end Dublin's dominance in the province.

Maybe this could be the the time.
