Meath East TD and Minister for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne welcomed his Austrian counterpart to the Royal county this week heralding the visit as “a great opportunity to showcase our beautiful county and demonstrate some world famous Meath hospitality”

“I was delighted to welcome Minister Karoline Edtstadler of Austria to Meath East for lunch at The Snailbox in Kilmoon and to showcase the wonderful surrounds of historic Newgrange as part of Ireland’s Ancient East. I was also very pleased that Minister Edtstadler was accompanied by a number of journalists from Austria who had an opportunity to tour the local region. Austria has demonstrated consistent solidarity with Ireland in the wake of Brexit” Minister Byrne commented.
