Celts outgun the Reds
Looking for so long like they might secure a victory Robinstown were hit with a late goal-rush from Enfield Celtic in the NEFL Div 3A today.
Enfield arrived in Robinstown for the game following a 6-0 win over Oldcastle the previous week and they found their scoring touch in this match too although they left it late before securing their 3-1 win.
The highly experienced Paul Curtin gave Robinstown a deserved lead after 35 minutes when he finished from close range and it stayed 1-0 at the interval.
In the second-half Enfield came storming back and they snaffled an equaliser on 80 minutes when Adam O'Brien crossed from the left and Ian Keenan scored from close range.
Then with 89 minutes played referee Ken Ennis pointed to the penalty spot after Enfield's Dan Carolan was deemed to have been fouled in the box and Keenan swept home the penalty.
In injury time Niall Mulvey stole in behind the Robinstown defence and fired home to seal the win for the visitors.
Enfield Celtic manager Davy Byrne said he was delighted with the win considering he was without a number of regulars while Robinstown boss Damien Sheridan expressed himself "bitterly disappointed" with the way the game turned out after his side took the lead.
