Plans lodged for 141 new homes and creche facility in Duleek
Plans for 141 homes and a creche on a 4.8 hectares site in Duleek have been recently lodged with an Bord Pleanala.
The proposal by DSPL Limited seeks permission for the strategic housing development on a site at Longford Road/The Steeples Road, Duleek, in the townland of Commons.
Housing developments with more than 100 houses are deemed to be strategic housing developments which means they are not considered by the local authority, in this case Meath County Council, and go straight to an Bord Pleanala for a decision. Submissions can be made up to 16th May on the plans.
The proposed development consists of 141 dwellings and a two-storey creche of 415sq.m. The homes are made up of 131 two-storey houses and 10 one-bed apartments accommodated in four two-storey buildings.
The proposed houses consist of four four-bed detached houses, 18 three and four bed semi-detached houses, 102 three and four bed terraced houses and seven two-bed terraced houses. A roadside footpath and cyclepath along the Longford Road/Steeples Road and 317 car parking spaces are proposed along with public and communal open spaces. Access to the development will be via one new vehicular entrance off Longford Road/The Steeples Road, with pedestrian/cyclist access provided along the northern and eastern boundaries. A decision is due on the plans on 2nd August.
Separately plans for a 272 home extension to the Bridgegate housing development in Ardee are also being considered by An Bord Pleanala. The strategic housing development application was lodged by Ardee Partnership. It includes a mix of houses and duplex apartments, along with a creche and community centre in an extension to the permitted residential development at Bridgegate adjoining to the northwest which is currently under construction.
The development also includes a public park at Mulladrillen Hill and a linear park around the Rathgory Tributary.
The Bridgegate SHD is located on a site of 13.03 hectares at Bridgegate, Rathgory and Mulladrillen, Drogheda Road, Ardee, Co Louth.
The 272 homes are made up of 206 houses and 66 apartments. Submissions may be made on the plans until 26th April with a decision due on 12th July.
