A FL Round-up: O'Mahonys fall short as Ratoath prevail

Navan O'Mahonys 0-9

After leading for much of the second-half Navan O'Mahonys conceded the lead and ended up losing out to Ratoath in the A FL Div 1A on Tuesday evening.

The Navan side trailed 0-5 to 0-6 at the interval but they bounced back to edge in front early in the second-half with the help of three points from Jake Regan, including one from a '45', however Ratoath finished the stronger to win. Regan ended the contest with five points Louis Collins hit two points for Darren Fay's young side. Mike O'Reilly and Clayton O'Sullivan also fired over for O'Mahonys who were unable to add to their account in final quarter.

Donaghmore/Ashbourne battled bravely to take something from this A FL Div 2B encounter last evening but they ultimately fell short against Dunsany's first team. Davin Keenan showed the way for Donaghmore/Ashbourne with two points. Nathan McGrath, Joe Magee, Darragh Gleeson, Cian Field and James Brady were others to fire over for Donaghmore/Ashjbourne who were unlucky not to at least get a share of the points.

Early points from Benji Smith, Mark McCullen and Harry Ryan helped to give Ballinlough an early lead in this A FL Div 2B clash at Ballinlough and the home side eventually pushed on to record a deserved victory. Not that the home side had it all their own way. The teams were level, 0-8 to 1-5, at the interval with Sean Coloe finding the net for the 'Wood.

With the help of an Aaron Ennis goal Longwood edged in front early in the second-half however the 'Lough were able to find an extra gear. Jamie Casserly clocked up an impressive tally of six points for the winners whle Ryan finished with five, all from frees. Tom Shine hit four, two frees with McCullen, Oisin McDermott, Lorcan Maguire and Smith all helping out out on the scoring front. Ryan Moore, Coloe, Ennis, Ross Kerrigan and Anthony Healy all contributed to Longwood's hefty final tally but it still wasn't enough. Sean O'Shea, Adam O'Brien, Cian O'Hare, Paul Gill, Niall Mulvey and Coloe were among those to show up well for Longwood.
