Sunny spells and blustery showers forecast

Some heavy downpours and even a chance of hail in some areas

There will be sunny spells and blustery showers throughout the day for most of the region, with some heavy downpours and even a chance of hail in some areas.

“Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds,” forecasts national weather service Met Eireann, who say that the showers will become confined to coasts tonight with long clear spells elsewhere.

Lowest temperatures of zero to plus 2 degrees with grass frost developing in mostly light southwesterly or variable breezes.

The outlook beyond Bank Holiday Monday is a rainy start to this short working week. But there is a chance of some sunny spells with highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees generally, in light variable breezes, gradually becoming northerly.

On Wednesday there's a further risk of rain and drizzle though it will be largely dry with some sunny spells.
