Action from the Towns' Cup final between Ashbourne and Kilkenny.

Ashbourne unable to find a route to victory

This week the Ashbourne players who took part in yesterday's Provincial Towns' Cup final defeat to Kilkenny will be left to ponder what might have been.

The Meath side struggled to find their best form and succumbed to a 6-32 defeat after trailing 6-12 at the interval.

Aidan McDonald, Gerry Dunne, Jake Pratley and Hugh Corkery ran in for tries for Kilkenny while Corkery added the rest from the kicking tee, conversions and penalties.

Ashbourne's modest tally came from two penalties scored by Gavin Kennedy but the Meath side struggled to raise a gallop.

Ashbourne made a mixed campaign in the Leinster League Div 1A but reaching the Towns' Cup final was a chance for them to finish off the season in style but it was not to be as Kilkenny deservedly won.
