Horsepower in Skryne as GAA club set to launch tractor and racehorse draw

Skryne GFC this weekend launches its 'Horsepower Superdraw' to raise funds to improve facilities at Skryne GFC for members, the people of the surrounding community and visitors to the club.

Tickets for our draw are priced at €50 each and the first prize is a John Deere 6120M tractor with front loader supplied by Meath Farm Machinery, valued at €120,000 or a cash alternative of €100,000. The winner of our second prize will become the owner of a racehorse trained by top trainer Gavin Cromwell for one year, a prize valued at €12,000.

Rowan Dardis, PRO, Skryne GFC, says: "If owning a racehorse doesn’t interest you, then you can take a cash alternative of €10,000 instead. We have a number of other prizes including bonus prizes for early bird ticket purchases.

"We are delighted to welcome on board our draw ambassadors local jockey and winner of Dancing with the Stars, Nina Carberry and former All Star All Ireland winning footballer Trevor Giles. Both local sports superstars believe in the power of sport to unite communities and they have nominated three charities who will also benefit from this draw. A minimum of €10,000 will go to Jigsaw Mental Health Services, The Injured Jockeys Fund and The LauraLynn Children’s Hospice Foundation.

"The draw is scheduled to take place in October 2022. Our target is to sell a minimum of 7,000 tickets."

Further details about the draw will be available on our website www.skrynegfc.ie

The launch is on Saturday, 9th April at 6.30pm in Skryne GFC.
