"It was probably one of the most exciting matches I've ever been to. And it really shows that hard work and determination can pay off. Good luck to Eamonn, all of the team and to everyone involved."

"This was the sporting highlight of the year and the final up in Croke Park will live in the memory with me and the people of Meath for the rest of our lives. I also feel it would possibly prove to be inspirational probably not just to the people here but all the other teams and other codes. Congratulations once again."

David Gough - Intercounty referee

"I just like to add my congratulations to everyone. It's very rare that I get to walk down Jones' road in a Meath jersey and support the county team. And it's a long time since I felt that buss and excitement in the stand and tension and in the last few moments and it was a wonderful occasion in Croke Park. This will live long with my memory as I very rarely get to celebrate successes on the football field and I'm thrilled just to congratulate you once again and wish you all the best in the coming years."

Gary Rogers - Former Dundalk goalkeeper

"Without question it was definitely the game of the season no doubt about it. i think what you achieved last year was incredible. Huge congratulations and hope you all kick on again this year."
