98-home Navan development appealed to Bord Pleanala

The granting of planning permission for 98 homes, including houses, apartments and duplex units, in the townlands of Ferganstown, Ballymacon and Athlumney, Navan, has been appealed to an Bord Pleanala.

Albert Developments Ltd was granted permission for the demolition of existing agricultural structures and the construction of 41 houses and 23 apartments in a four-storey apartment building along with an adjoining three-storey duplex element containing 10 duplex apartments. The proposed development also includes a three-storey duplex building of 24 apartments fronting on to the recently contructed LDR 6 Road.

The plans include 151 car parking spaces and roads to facilitate the development with vehicular and pedestrian access to be proivded from the LDR6 Road which connects to the R153 Kentstown Road to the south. The three-hectares site forms part of a wider masterplan (MP12 local area plan) for 13.82 hectares of lands to the north of the Kentstown Road outside Navan.

Meanwhile, plans for 99 homes at Silverstream Road, Kilbreckstown, Stamullen, have been lodged with Meath County Council. Alcove Ireland Eight Ltd is seeking permission for the development which includes seven two-bedroom, two-storey houses, 79 three-bedroom two-storey houses, 13 four-bedroom two-storey houses and a childcare facility with external play area.
