Megan Thynne will start for Meath against Cork on Saturday.

Meath make three changes

Vikki Wall is the most notable absentee as Meath manager Eamonn Murray makes three changes from the side that started last September's All-Ireland SFC final for Saturday's NFL Div 1 opener against Cork at Pairc Tailteann (1.30pm).

Wall is named on the bench for the Royals alongside Orla Byrne, while Bridgetta Lynch misses out altogether.

Murray welcomes back vice-captain Orlaith Duff from long-term injury, while minor star Ciara Smyth will make her first competitive start for Meath and dual star Megan Thynne returns to the starting line-up in place of Byrne.

New Cork manager Shane Ronayne has given the Mourneabbey contingent some time to recover following their All-Ireland Club SFc final loss to Kilkerrin-Clonberne, with vice-captain Melissa Duggan on captaincy duty in the absence of Maire O’Callaghan.

Ronayne was also in charge of that Mourneabbey outfit, as he also prepared for the start of the League campaign.
