Tobin looking to make her mark in Scotland
Sonya Tobin from Navan has been included on the Irish team for the gruelling Anglo Celtic Plate 100km marathon in Perth, Scotland on Sunday 3rd April.
The 100km run is a competition that includes teams from the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.
In 2021 the runs was hosted in Mondello Park, Co Kildare and the Irish women's team won the event for the first time in the event's 26 year history.
Tobin, who is a member of Navan AC and a sister of former Meath footballer Sean Tobin, was selected to run on the women's team this year after missing out on the event in 2021 through injury. However, being the team player she clearly is she volunteered to become part of the support crew last year.
"For this event the team will be supported by Hanley Energy based in Stamullen, Co Meath which is much appreciated," commented John O'Regan who is involved with the Irish teams.
