King takes the reins at Longwood

Longwood's unique search for a manager to take charge of both their senior hurling side and their intermediate footballers has beared fruit with former Meath star Caoimhin King set to take on both roles at the south Meath club.

King mixed managerial duties with Drumbaragh and playing hurling and football with Drumree and Dunshaughlin respectivaly last year and now he takes on the unusual position as manager of two sides.

King left his role as Drumbaragh manager at the end of last year's difficult IFC campaign, but as a player he enjoyed a decent run, playing on the Dunshaughlin side that reached the Premier FC Div 1 final and featuring on the Drumree hurling team that won the Junior 2 HC withy victory over Kildalkey.

Longwood were play in Group B of the SHC following their relegation from Group A after failing to win a game in the 2021 championship, while the footballers avoided a IFC relegation play-off with victory over Moylagh in their final group game.

Longwood GAA announced King's appointment on social media.
