Meath hurlers start a new year in Dunganny.

Time and venue changes for Meath hurling clash

The Meath v Westmeath Kehoe Cup encounter that was originally fixed for Kildalkey on Sunday at 2pm has been moved to Dunganny with a noon start.

It would have been a big honour for Kildalkey to host the game but unfortunately for them that will no longer be the case.

A big crowd had been expected at the home of the reigning senior champions but the fixture has now been switched.

Meath manager Nick Weir told the Meath Chronicle he is enduring something of a "nightmare" because of Covid in trying to prepare his team for the Kehoe Cup and the forthcoming NHL campaign.

It's likely the Meath team for Sunday's game against the Lake County will contain a number of young players new to the inter-county senior scene.
