Trim Boil Water notice lifted with immediate effect

The Boil Water Notice which has been in place in Trim has been lifted with immediate effect by Irish Water following the completion of remedial measures and the receipt of satisfactory monitoring results.

This decision follows consultation undertaken with the Health Service Executive, according to Irish Water.

All consumers on the Trim Public Water Supply can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.

The Boil Water Notice was imposed on 16th December following an issue at the plant, which compromised the disinfection process.

Michael Cunniffe from Irish Water said: “Irish Water has completed remedial works that enabled the lifting of the Boil Water Notice.

“Irish Water acknowledges the inconvenience that a Boil Water Notice is for the community impacted, especially in the run up to Christmas, and we want to thank everyone for their patience throughout.”

Irish Water, the Local Authority and the Health Service Executive Water Liaison Group will continue to meet and will review ongoing process control, monitoring and testing of the drinking water supply.
