Jewellery stolen in Navan burglary

Navan Gardai are asking people to contact them if they hear of any jewellery being sold at a knock-down price following a burglary where a substantial amount of jewellery was stolen.

The break-in occurred in the Oldtown, Johnstown, area of Navan yesterday, 14th December, sometime between 2.30pm and 6.30pm. The back door was forced to gain entry and a number of items of jewellery were taken, as well as a ladies jacket.

Anyone who was in the Old Johnstown/Walterstown area during this time and noticed any suspicious activity is asked to contact Navan Garda Station on 046-9036100. They are also asking members of the public to contact them if they hear of any jewellery being sold at a knock-down price.

Meanwhile, Trim Gardai are investigating a burglary in the Newcastle area of Enfield last Friday where three masked men smashed the rear patio door to gain entry. The burglary took place between 5.30pm and 5.40pm on 10th December. The masked men, who were all wearing black, were disturbed by the homeowner and fled.

Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area around that time or anyone who was travelling on the R402 in Enfield at the time with dashcam footage, is asked to contact Trim Garda Station on (046) 9481540.
