Man caught with drugs had 57 previous convictions

A 28-year-old man caught with €140 worth of drugs in a Navan street was given a two month prison sentence after a judge heard he had 57 previous convictions.

Glen Bride, Mount Olive Park, Kilbarrack was stopped by Garda Wasser at Abbeylands in Navan on 19th May last year. He had 70 tablets worth €140, Trim District Court heard. Sergeant Kevin Moroney said defendant had previous convictions for violent behaviour, breach of a safety order, carrying a firearm, possession of drugs, and criminal damage.

Judge Miriam Walshe imposed the prison sentence.
