Navan estates in need of road resurfacing

A CALL for the roads in the Boyne Valley, Beechmount Lawns and Parnell Park estates to be included for remedial works in the 2022 Schedule of Municipal District Works, was made by Cllr Eddie Fennessy at a meeting of Navan Municipal Council last week.

He was told the roads requested are on the proposed list of estates for re-surfacing works over the next three years, with the most damaged surfaces to be prioritised on the list, following technical surveys of all roads.

Councillors heard there will be further opportunity to discuss the housing estates selected for the 2022 programme at the start of next year, when the Schedule of Municipal District Works is being finalised.

Cllr Fennessy said residents will be happy to know those roads are due for repair over the next three years.

"Beechmount Lawns and the Boyne Valley Estate are tiny in comparison to works required in Parnell Park, Abbeygrove, Ferndale or Troytown Heights.

"I suggest the council use its resources next year, similar to this year, which would see significant investment in two large estates with two other estates benefiting from a smaller scale investment.

"This would allow for the inclusion of Beechmount Lawns and Boyne Valley alongside larger projects next year," he said.
