NEFL season hots up as finishing post draws near

The North East Football League has outlined a proposed schedule for the conclusion of action in the 2021 season.

If weather allows all remaining league games will be played on the weekends ending 28th November, 5th December, 12th December and 19th December.

The exception to that proposal is Div 2 and possibly promotion/relegation play-off in Premier/Div1. A big factor also is whether an extension to the season will be granted.

The Women's Div have provisional plans for cup and shield finals (27th/28th November), with league play offs the following weekend.

Outstanding at that point may well be Tully Challenge Cup, Forty Year Cup and Reserve Cup finals as well as Kilmessan and O'Neill Shield finals, with the possibility of one or more taking place by 19th December.

Among the crucial, do-or-die games to be played are the Challenge Cup semi-finals with Kentstown Rovers taking on Bellurgan Utd while Parkvilla or Chord Celtic will face Rock Celtic or Carrick Rovers.

In the last four of the Reserve Cup Albion Rovers face Abbey Celtic while Ardee Celtic take on Trim Celtic.
